The South African Civil Aviation Authority is South Africa’s national aviation authority. Its legal mandate is to oversee civil aviation and govern investigations regarding aviation accidents and incidents. In addition, the SACAA is in charge of regulating, enforcing and promoting civil aviation safety and security. Its headquarters is in Waterfall Park, Midrand Johannesburg.
The successful candidates will be part of SACAA’s Aviation Security Division and will be subject to security vetting as per section 598 of the Civil Aviation Act of 2009. During the 12-month programme, interns will have the opportunity to acquire essential work experience as well as a monthly stipend.
Who should apply?
Applicants will need to meet the following minimum requirements in order to qualify for consideration:
- Must hold a degree in Computer Science or Information System
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Preferably knowledgeable in data visualization/dashboards and data modelling
- Applicants with basic statistics foundation will have an edge
- Knowledge in data mapping is a plus
- Must be a logical thinker with good problem-solving skills
- Preference will be given to employment equity candidates
